First of all, you are using the S7-1500T and here is the conference dedicated to the Simotion. These are different beasts. There's a conference for the Simatic Technology where your post seems to belong. Your problem can have many roots. So more details are needed. Show diagram of your system - existing axes, their types and their linkage. Are you using the Siemens standard app for rotary knife or some home made solution? Some basic specifications like the line speed, cutting length and accel/decel times are needed too. As well as range of differences from the target length, |

Hello, Thanks for reply. Of cause I using siemens standard application. (post id is 109757260) actually a few years ago I used this application with cut steel sheet machine. (line speed is max 80mpm, cut length min 300mm, max 2000mm, thickness min 0.5mm, max 2.4mm) I guess maybe version is 2.1 or 3.0 (with osscillations axis), and I met the siemens person in germany(Erlangen). but that time I was don't know anything. And now I tried to understand applications and design the electrical system with my hands. Now productions status is, line speed min 15mpm, max 60mpm, cutting length min 500mm, max 10,000mm, aluminium alloy sheet, thickness min 0.5mm, max 3.5mm external encoder wheel material both(up and down) urethan roll, hardness 93~95. and diameter 95mm I tested adjust to ramp time min 2s, max 20s. When ramp up complete cut length is stable. Problem is when ramp up and down cut length is unstable. ramp up too long, ramp down too short. different length is dependent to target cut length. example) target cut length 1,000mm, ramp up - 1,005mm, ramp down - 995mm Thank you. Hello, Yes, it's actual settings. I tried input the extrapolations time, and then auto mode in rotary knife occur error. And I checked motor speed controller, value is 1000 and 12ms. I think something wrong in here, so I tried to auto tune in scout again, I get the gain value 3500 and 12ms. And running the machine and cutting and checking length. different length is +,- 2mm in target length 1000mm with 20mpm. more gain (~8000) but result is same. Anyway now I get the better then yesterday. Thank you for advise. I did read a manual of external encoder setting (ID:109763337) but I don't understand all about that. So, I read again now. And could you check my measurement? I wondering, "DB.P.1"is speed setpoint in ramp fc output. (cyclic 50ms) "161SMM..." is feeding motor actual speed. And measure encoder velocity and positions. CPU 1515T, average cycle time is 30ms, servo cycle 4ms * 3factor = 12ms. When ramp up start 1.82474s Feeder motor running: 1.90903s Measure encoder velocity up: 1.93244s(actual), 1.95585s(filter) Measure encoder position up:1.946491s I think reason about length problem is this, sheet move first and then encoder move. time delay occur around 40ms. is this right? And It can be compensated with extrapolations? One more thing! In the manual, normally setting position filter T1 is 0.01s So I trying to setting the 0.01s with position filter. And I use to "109485905_SIMOTION_ExtrapolationTimeCalculation_V1_2_en" Finally I get the extrapolation value is 0.096750s. so I trying to do at tommorow. (in TO external encoder extrapolations time) My system is S7-1515T cpu and S120 sinamics drive (ALM, SMM, external encoder with drive cliq), plc cpu and cu configured profinet (irt, send clock 4ms * factor 3, Ti 0.25ms, To 0.5ms) So I checked Q1. 1st, Q2. 2nd ( To external encoder) Q3. 1st. (sinamics with DSC, profinet) Q4. 1st (pre control use, rotary knife axis activated to P1402 ion the scout) Tdp 12ms Tipo 12ms Ti(leading) 0.25ms To(following) 0.5ms balancing filter (follwoing) 50ms pTc (leading) 0ms (tommorow change to 10ms) epTc (leading) 0ms sum of Tc and Tt (following) 0ms I did it correctly?
