Simatic S5-95U DB error

cherlokx Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Hello there, I recently acquired a milling machine which have a Simatic S5-95U to control it. I have some trouble to make it works. The PLC is linked to a text display TD10 which seems to have an eproom memory card. When I turn on everything, I have those 2 errors messages on the display: "$ 613 DB-Fehler Nr. 51 ( 0;10)" and "$200 battery wechseln" I have changed the battery of the PLC but I still have those 2 messages and the machine still don't work even if the PLC is in run mode (green led). I precise I don't have any information on what the program looks like and actually no way to linked it to a computer. I suppose this is not a big problem to fix, the seller told me the machine was still working few monthes ago when he decided to sell it. I think this is the failure of the battery which create the problem. Thanks in advance for you help! Charles

Navnag Platinum Expert Joined: 11/21/2007 Last visit: 1/8/2026 Posts: 2327 Rating: (309)	Hello Do you have an EPROM / EEPROM Module plugged into the EPROM Slot ? If yes, then pl follow this procedure : a) Switch off the PLC b) Remove the Battery c) Switch On the PLC Power d) Red ( STOP ) LED fill flicker and then Green (RUN) LED should come ON e) With this, you will have the EPROM program copied to CPU RAM In case you don't have theEPROM and battery ( Yellow LED is ON ), then tough luck. You would have to look for the EPROM or S5 program copy for loading in PLC. Hope this helps Cheers Navnag

cherlokx Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Thanks for your quick answer. I don't have any memory card on the PLC. I had the Yellow led before I changed the battery. Does it mean that the program is lost? I've already contact the company which built the machine and the one which was is charge of the electronic part but so far I didn't get any answer. The machine was built in 1993, I'm not sure they still have a copy of the program. Thanks again Cheers Charles

It can only be re-loaded from the program stored in EPROM or from a Soft Copy Backup Hope you are able to get hold of one of these Cheers Navnag
