Step 7 v13 - unable to remove or upgrade our trial license

srikant Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	We are unable to remove or upgrade our trial license. We have an expired trial license and an Upgrade license that we received wiith Step 7 v13 software pack. We have transferred this upgrade license to our hard disk, which also has the trial license. TIA Portal tells "No valid license key found" when we try to introduce a PLC in our project. If we attempt to Upgrade trial license on ALM via License Key -> Upgrade, it says "No matching upgrade license keys were found." If we attempt to delete the trial license to help TIA Portal find the full license instead, deletion fails because the license has been previously enabled.

Hello srikant, Go to Automation License Manager and select the previous license. Then what happens if you go to License Key -> upgrade? srikant Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Wizard, Thank you. After removing the trial licenses, it became easier to root-cause the problem. Our Upgrade license upgrades only v5.4/5.5, and not v12, to v13. So we had to bring our v5.5 and this upgrade license together for a successful upgrade. Now we are able to use TIA Portal v13. Thanks, Srikant

JimWar Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	I am having a similar problem. I am unable to upgrade from TIA V12 to TIA V13. When I start License Manager the message comes up there are unused upgrades. When I try to upgrade Step 7 Professional V12 using License Key->Upgrade I get the message 'No matching license upgrade keys were found'. I have tried transferring and deleting the trial licenses, both fail. I am not certain the problem is with the trial licenses. The V12 license came from an XP machine, could that be the issue? BryanG2001 Posts: 113 Rating: (22)	Just had a similar problem myself. Right click on the software that needs the License and then choose upgrade. You would think that would be OK but for me that didn't work, I had to click on the version 12 software and choose the upgrade option, then the V13 suddenly was activated OK. More Siemens weirdness I think. It would be better if the error message that you get at starting TIA didn't just say to go to License Key / Upgrade.

Hi, i've the same problem, if i try to delete the old licence its say: " Could not delete license key STEP 7 Professional (00000000000000000000) on drive C:\. License keys can only be deleted as long as they have not been enabled." And if I do right click and update say: "No matching upgrade license keys were found". How can i fix the problem ?
