Logo 8 update and Mac OS X Yosemite

I have just received my paid for LOGO!Soft Comfort v7.1 DVD from RS Components. Loaded it onto Win 7 o/s no problem and updated to v8. Tested all my projects designed in demo version and all is OK. My problem is this. I run the Win 7 operating system in BootCamp on a MacBook Pro in a virtual machine via Parallels Desktop 10. I installed the v7.1 software on the Mac OSX partition also and it also works ok. I then tried to update on-line with no success. I then went to the Siemens update site and downloaded the update zip to V8 (took ages). When i try to run the 'Setup' update i keep getting an error message saying that the 'Setup' update is damaged and should be moved to trash. Has anyone else had this problem and if so is there a fix? I can still run v8 on the windows platform and the v7.1 on the Mac platform. I am wondering if this is Yosemite problem. Has anyone got v8 running on Mavericks (the previous Mac o/s)? It would be nice if I could get v8 running (not demo) on the Mac as I have other reference files that make things easier to view rather than keep changing screens etc. Its not a real drama but if anyone has any input or fix to this problem it would be greatly appreciated.

Install it, restart and run v8.

I tried the java install from the link but all it did was install a previous earlier java version for Mac that still didnt resolve the problem. After searching the internet some more I have found a fix for this problem. It has something to do with an altered Java signature and is quite easily fixed.

On the Mac go into System Preferences, Security and Privacy, and select the General tab. Click the lock at the bottom to make changes and select "Allow apps to be downloaded from: Anywhere". Then run your downloaded upgrade to v8 and it will ask you to locate your original program folder (whatever licensed version you are upgrading from). Point to this folder and then it will update. After I put my Security and Privacy settings back to how they were, rebooted and now all is working fine.
