STEP 7 project language settings

Dear forum members,

I am facing a problem with the S7 project for our machines that I cannot open the project in simatic managers which always ends with a message that " the project in the directory or an object can open only when the regional language and settings of the windows set to German". The project created by a German vendor. But, since five years, I have been using all their projects for similar similar machines and this is the first time such a message appears. please clarify the reason behind this.

the programmer has to set the checkbox in the project proberties "Can be opened under any Windows language settings (language neutral)"

you can try to set your windows language to german, set this checkbox and save the project. Then you should be able to open it in other windows languages too.

or you delete the file "language" in the project directory -> subdirectory "Global"

Thanks for your reply. Is it possible to delete that file without opening the project in simatic manager? If that works, then, no need to change the windows language.

yes you can delete this file in Windowsexplorer without opening the project in simatic manager.

after delete you can open the project in simatic manager without the error Message.
