Can't import simocode pro V into HW config

CaptainFanatic Posts: 34 Rating: (2)	I'm trying to generate hardware config for a number of stations automatically - using macros in excel to generate a text file of the .cfg format that I then import in step7 HW config. This works fine for all devices except the simocode pro V. When I import a .cfg file witha simocode pro Vin it I get the following error message: "DPSUBSYSTEM 2, DPADDRESS 3, 3UF7 010-1A*00-0 could not be created. Check the spelling of the order number, version, or GSD file name, and make sure that all required optional packages are available." I have installed all hardware updates and the simocode pro V GSD files. I have tried to import a .cfg file that I exported from HW config and I still get the same error forevery simocode pro V. Doesanyone have any experience with this that they can share?

CaptainFanatic Posts: 34 Rating: (2)	Solved (partially): The correct type of simocode Pro V has to used in hware config. I was using one from the catalog Profibus DP/Switching Devices/Motor Management System/Simocode Pro V (Basic Type1). This does not have a GSD file associated with it in hware config and causes an error on import. The simocode Pro V from the catalog that does work is under Profibus DP/Additional Field Devices/Switching Devices/SIMOCODE/SIMOCODE pro/SIMOCODE pro V (GSD V1.2) Placing this device from the catalog then exporting and importing a station in hware config works. One problem remains - this simocode is not integrated with the Simocode ES software whereas the first one I tried was. So I can use hardware config imports or simocode ES integration, but not both! Is this a bug?

jeffinstoke Posts: 1 Rating: (1)	Had this same problem trying to import Excel macros that generated Hardware Configs that included Simocode stations. Found out that the import could not import into non-existant Simocode profibus stations, but would OVERWRITE existing ones. Contacted Siemens UK about the problem - they took my project and replecated the fault. They thencontacted Siemens Germany and got the acknowledgement from them that it was a known problem. The reason was that S7 & Simocode were two separate teams of people who had not got their act together yet, and that the problem would not be solved "overnight".. So, for my imports that require Simocode stations, I created a Base Project that contained 70 Simocode stations per Profibus Network, all with a comment "DELETE". My macro generated 2 config files, both withSimocode stations with genuine comments. The first has only the Simocode Stations; the second has the complete config.After importing, you can delete the stations that are commented "DELETE", and import the second config file for non-Simocode items - it's worked many times. Meanwhile, I wait for the Germans to talk to each other...
