Recently I have come with strange problems. I have been using STEP7 V5.5 for past 3 years from my laptop. but now, whenever I open simatic manager, dialog appears saying "Cannot find language resource file \\.DLL" & STEP 7 opens normally. Now, If i open any previously saved projects, it seems that symbol table is deleted from all the projects. If I create a new symbol table, it doesn;t shoe up in project window. Then simatic manager crashes.

I don't know what has gone wrong with the simatc mananger. I kindly request you to help me.

Perhaps a Repair installation of Step 7 can help.

try to install Step7 5.5 SP4.

Do the installation with deactivated anti-virus scan and with full admin-rights(rigth-click on setup.exe-> run as Admin)

Service Pack 4 for STEP 7 V5.5 and STEP 7 Professional 2010

go to this Path and check language setting  

control panel > Clock , language and region > language and region > (Set your location and format to united stat)

and what have you down between the last good and the error on the system?

If i understand corretly then the installation works without problem the last 3 years and now you get the error.

any SW installed? Any registry optimizer running?

Always run Step7 as Administrator!

In Step7 shortcut settings, check "Always run as Administator" box.

Just had this same issue and even after repeated install attempts i decided to look for the file in the S7bin folder.  This is the location of my Simatic Manager executable.  The closest file I found was S7YOMLRB.DLL.  I made a copy, renamed it to S7YOMLR.DLL, restarted and S7 has been running ever since.

Not idea when, where, why, who and/or how it changed.

This is a W10 machine, not sure if it's related or not.
