Monitoring a remote LOGO!8

L L Posts: 34 Rating: (0)	With Soft Comfort 8 installed on my home PC, I’ve transferred my program to a LOGO8. I wish to remotely monitor several inputs for my small business. The business location is equipped with a PLC controlled access system connected via Ethernet to a PC. The system also connects to the internet with a DSL router/modem. Soft Comfort is not installed on the business PC. Do I need to connect the LOGO to the facility’s Ethernet to monitor the LOGO via the Webserver? Or, can I simply connect the LOGO to an available port on the modem? The business modem’s IP address is 192.168.0.1 I’ve configured the LOGO’s IP address as 192.168.0.60 What additional steps are needed to allow remote access from my home PC or Smartphone? I can find no set-up information in the user manual. I have no expertise in the world of networking.

I have no expertise in the world of networking. hello. i have try to use web-server. i connected my plc to wi-fi router in settings of plc i allow the web-server and if i want see the i/O plc , see display of plc, or operate plc i must coonect my phone to this wi-fi router in the browser i input the IP adress of PLC than you will have window of pasword(you can switch-off it) P.S. if you have static IP adress it is better because you can connect from any place in the word

Helmut_13 Posts: 2930 Rating: (432)	Hi, how do you connect the LOGO! 8 with Internet? DSL or 3G/LTE? If DLS then it should no be a big problem if 3G/LTE then you need additional units (INSYS MOROS or Siemens Scalance) because to get into your Providers Network requires additional services. For DSL: 1. Setup LOGO! IP, Allow Webserver and Remote Access 2. In DSL Router configure port forwarding of Port 8080 to Port 80 and to LOGO!s IP-Address 3. Configure DynDNS in case you don't have a fixed IP-Adr. for the DSL Router 4. User your smart phone or PC (connected to Internet) and in your Web-Browser call the configured DynDNS name or the IP-ADr. of LOGO! Hope this helps

L L Posts: 34 Rating: (0)	Thanks, Helmut_13. That's a big help. The facility’s modem is DSL. I am investigating adding a static IP address with my ISP. Apparently, they are already providing one static IP for credit card transactions.

Helmut_13 Posts: 2930 Rating: (432)	Hi, is the remote access for LOGO! 8 enabled (tools/transfer/access control)? Enable it an configure a PW. In your DSL router do port forwarding of 8080 to LOGO! IP-Adr. Port 80. Then try use the Web-Server of LOGO! 8 If successfull observe security. Best is to use VPN. Hope this helps
