PC-based Automation

I want to create a profibus network, where the first node is a PC station with CP card the 2nd node is a 315-2DP CPU and the last node is a ET200M station then what would be the termination switch position(on/off) for all of those nodes.

I know that profibus has to be terminated at start and at end of a network. So is this applicable for this situation.

if the node position you use is the physical position then:

PC-Station -> ON

CPU 315  -> OFF

ET200M -> ON

Off on the CPU315 if you use 1 Connector with 2 Cables (like 6ES7972-0BA42-0XA0)

Simply you can say that if your profibus connector has 2 cables  (1in and 1out) then the terminating resistor must be OFF.

If your profibus connector has only 1cable then the resistor must be ON.

REMEMBER THIS RULE.

In any profibus communication network,

First and last profibus connector with single cable (In) of the network must have the profibus connector  switch to ON position.

Rest of the connectors in between with two profibus cables (IN and Out) must have the connector switch position to the OFF state.

in any of profibuss communication.....

the connector at the end position (cable IN) of profibuss network must switch to ON position.

the other connectors must switch in to the OFF position.
