Accessing WinCC Databases with SQL Server Manager

gmdlss Posts: 99 Rating: (4)	Hello everyone, I'm trying to access WinCC databases through SQL Server Managment Studio (SSMS). I open SSMS and connect to the NOTEBOOK02\WINCC server. As a result, I get to see a lot different databases. (I attached a picture of them). I would like to check the data archived by my WinCC application. However, I can't seem to find the DB which contains this data. Does anyone know where can I find it? Thanks in advance. Attachment WinCCSQLManager.png (1718 Downloads)

bg2492 Posts: 7298 Rating: (2188)	Hello gmdlss, the databases startig wit "CC..." are configuration databases of the WinCC-project, an the databases with the same name but additional "R" at the end are the runtimedatabase of the same WinCC-project. You have a lot of configuration- and runtimedatabase active, You should have only one pair active. The "CC_ExternelBrowsing" is for options like DataMonitor-Server or ConnectivityPack-Server. The databases starting with a computername, are runtime-database-segments. The ones with "ALG" in the name are from Alarmlogging. The ones with "TLG_F" or "TLF_S" in the name are from Taglogging (Fast and Slow). You can have a look in the databases of Alarmlogging, in the table "MsArcLong" can you find message-events. In the databases of Taglogging the data are compressed in binary packages, which you can see in the table "TagCompressed". Regards Georg Berghof

There is only an Application example, if you would like to export runtime data (Alarmlogging, Taglogging) from the archives.
