SICAM switch control language

Hello,

I have a project on WinCC 7.5 SP2 + SICAM SCC V9.07. The project language is Lithuanian and dialogs should be displayed in Lithuanian. The Windows region is set to Lithuania. I use SICAM Switch Control objects and their texts are customized in 'SICAMswitch.xml' located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Siemens Energy\SICAM\SCC\bin\

However in Runtime some of Lithuanian special characters in SICAM Switch Control objects are replaced by Latin/English or removed completely. I was testing different Windows regional settings. Changing “Current language for non-Unicode programs“ in Region/Administrative has some effect for displaying the special characters in SICAM switch control objects but in no case special characters were displayed 100% correctly. The best result is achieved with “Current language for non-Unicode programs“ set to any version of English for example, English (United Kingdom).

Any ideas appreciated.

Thank you for the explanation. Regarding the project settings and C-compiler options it is configured according your recommendations and I have no problems with Lithuanian characters in C scripts.

As scripts are not involved into SICAM switch control objects in my project, I am still concerned about these texts. I know WinCC supports unicode but specific Lithuanian characters are not displayed at all or displayed incorrectly in SICAM switch control objects. What could still be wrong?

Hello Georg,

I have already tried setting the language for non unicode programs in the Windows to Lithuanian. You can see the result of it in my 2nd post of this topic "Sicam switch language - Win10 Region EN-UK, non-unicode LT.png". The result of setting to Lithuanian is even worse than setting to English, more Lithuanian characters are not displayed at all.
