ControlHost.exe problem in WebNavigator

richardstarr Posts: 10 Rating: (0)	Hi, I've just upgraded from WinCC v7.0+SP1 to WinCC v7.0+SP2 and I can no longer log using WebNavigator, I get the following message from Visual Studio: An unhandled win32 exception occurred in ControlHost.exe [6476] The screen then remains blank and does not load as it should Does any one have any ideas how to fix this? efka Posts: 799 Rating: (43)	Hi, richardstarr Which logs should I be looking at? WinCC_Sys_Log should be interesting and also WinCC_Start_Log. Certainly you can take a closer look to all logfiles in diagnostic folder, but it is important, that you tell us, in which logfile you found any error if you want to post it here. Please also take a look into the event wieder of your windows (start>run> "eventvwr.exe") regards

ASGrant Posts: 36 Rating: (0)	Hi I have just upgraded to WinCC V7.0 SP2, from WinCC V7.0 SP1,as well and seem to be getting a similar issue with WebNavigator Client (Version: K07.00.02.00_01.37.00.03). When the ControlHost.exe error occurs in IE on the client PC two errors appear in the Windows application log. Faulting application controlhost.exe, version 700.200.137.3, faulting module mfc90.dll, version 9.0.30729.4148, fault address 0x0004f80b. Faulting application controlhost.exe, version 700.200.137.3, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 5.1.2600.2180, fault address 0x00043345. Regards Andrew

VKSOKOEN Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Hello everyone, I have been experiencing, the same problems as above. Independently from 32/64bit cpu, on some it works on others it doesn't. When I'm browsing to the server, I'm getting the Connecting to server line and then the done page. But then IE freeses and crashes. When i watch my windows events, i can also se that ControlHost.exe is faulting module. Did anyone here found a solution? Thanks in advance! Regards, Koen

bg2492 Posts: 7298 Rating: (2188)	Hello Koen, the ControlHost.exe is a process of WebNavigator-Server, you should have 5 instances of it. To find out, what the reason for the crash is, you should install AdPlus on the PC and configure it for watching the process "ControlHost.exe". If you have got a dump then, you can create a Support Request and send it to the Technical Support.
