hsc help

aaeretyed Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	hi everybody! i have cpu 1214 dc dc dc v4.0 and have a servo motor, i don't know how to connect from driver servo to PLC to use HSC. you know, driver servo have 4 pin, they are: CHA+, CHA-, CHB+, CHB-. i use HSC1 in my PLC, so I0.0 is CHA phase, and I0.1 is CHB phase. Then i connect CHA+ with I0.0, CHB+ with I0.1, CHA- and CHB- with 0VDC from 24VDC power. But i can't read any hsc value. so i think i don't know how to connect plc and driver to use HSC. do you help me? it will be helpful for me. hsc

There are many types of encoders that fits your description -> HTL, TTL, RS422 etc..but judging from the signals it may be an RS422 encoder, which is usually 5VDC. The S7-1200 requires a minimum of 15VDC to trigger on (Logic 1 Level = 15 to 26 VDC).

But I would suggest connecting CHA+ and CHB+ to your I0.0 and I0.1 on the PLC as HSC inputs. Do not connect CHA- and CHB- at all as I believe they're also encoder outputs. The question now is where's the encoder getting power from, are there more wires to be connected or is it getting power from the drive? Kal

Denilson Pegaia Diamond Member Joined: 9/23/2005 Last visit: 12/24/2025 Posts: 4434 Rating: (1487)	Hi, first check if the A+ A- B+ B- are input or outputs (normaly servor motors became signals from controller). Check also if A+ B+ A- B- are 24V (many times + /- signals are related to 5VDC). if both checks match, use just A+ and B+. Be sure that both devices are interconected by the M power supply voltage.
