LOGO! Basic Module (or BM) version

In the description of the firmware update for the CMR is the following: 

VM signals of type BIT can now be used. To use a VM tag of type BIT, a LOGO! Basic Module Version 8.1 or higher must be used. Exemplary SMS syntax "Password; LOGO = VM1.3,1, BIT"

A LOGO! Basic module V8.1 does not exist. V8.1 is the version for LOGO! Soft Comfort, i.e. the programming software.
In my opinion is meant that a LOGO! 0BA8 (FS04 or newer) with the firmware version V1.81.01 or newer is meant.

Your LOGO!s have the firmware version V1.08.02, are thus LOGO!. with FS02. With this LOGO!s the type "BIT" doesn't work.

For older LOGO!s 0BA8, i.e. 0BA8.Standard with the firmware versions V1.08.01 to V1.08.03 (FS01-FS03), one bit can be switched in the VM range via the type "BYTE":

Example on VM bit V3.0:
Password; LOGO = VM3,1, BYTE (for V3.0 = High)
Password; LOGO = VM3,0, BYTE (for V3.0 = Low)

the different is:

LOGO! 8 till ES03 always a Byte is transferred. The results that you lost 7 bits when you address a bit.

Since LOGO! 8 FS04 and CMR 2020/40 FW V2 you can directly address a individual bit. Instead of a complete byte now a individual bit is transferred and so you can use all 8 bits separate.
