Hello Mint, Turn the drive power off. After the DC bus is discharged fully, disconnect terminal 48/9 onthe InfeedMoudle and disconnect the motorpower cable from the power section. Connect upthree 10kOhm resistors in a wye configuration to the motor power terminals. This will create a neutral point for measuring the U to N backEMF voltage signals. To viewthe zero pulse from the encoder, use the DAC1 output on the 840-D. Set the DAC configuration for "Zero mark signal motor meas. system" with ashift factor of 17. The DAC output has a +2.5V offset (i.e., +2.5V corresponds to zero).Channel A is connected toDAC output 1 and ChannelB is the backEMF U to N. Set the scope trigger on Channel A (e.g., time base = 5ms/div, CHA = 1volt/div and CHB = 10volt/div). Note: A finer view of the zero crossing is made by changing the voltage scale of Channel B to 1volt/div. Rotate the motor manually in the clockwise direction and observe the scope trace. The "0" pulse must occur at the positive going "0" crossing of the U to N backEMF. If not, the encoder position must be adjusted by rotating the encoder slightly. Hope this helps...
