It works well with IOT2040

But I'd like to know this method in this post works with IOT2050 or not?  Anyone try?

Here is what I did:

1. Reinstalled a brand new image on the micro SD card.
   1. Setting up the SIMATIC IOT2000;
   2. SIMATIC IOT2000 SD-Card example image;
2. Via "iot2000setup" command onPuTTY:
   1. "Software" > "Manage Autostart Options" > Check "Auto Start node-red";
   2. Return to first menu, "Networking" > "Configure Interfaces" > Change the IP address of eth0 to one that suit your need;
3. Go back to Putty using "Tab" and "Exit" button and use "reboot" command to restart IOT2040
4. Right click on PuTTY header and select "New session" with the need IP address when you can ping IOT via command prompt.
5. ViaWinSCP, go the the folder /etc/ and open "inittab" file and add a # at the beginning of the last line.

6. Use "reboot" command to restart IOT2040
7. Right click on PuTTY header and select "Restart session" when you can ping IOT via command prompt.
8. Open Node-RED via your web browser using the IP address you configured on point 2.2 and add :1880 at the end of it, like that http://192.168.0.202:1800
   1. Wait until "SD" led as stop blinking which is a sign the boot is finish.
      
9. Click on the button with 3 lines at the top right of web page, select "Import" and "Clipboard"
10. Import the following text:

12. Connect your USB keyboard or barcode reader
    
13. Via PuTTY use the following command:
    

    ps auxww | grep tty1
    

14. You may have to reboot again
15. Press buttons on the USB keyboard and end with "Enter" or scan a barcode (make sure the reader is configured to send a carriage return at the end)

You should now see the result in the "Debug" windows.

Backspace button also works, this is amazing!

I have just tested the setup on an FS:05 device, using Example Image V1.2.2 along with the Elekele WBS2001 2D-Scanner.

In reference to Hugo's post, the process was quite straightforward. We simply connected the device via USB and modified the NodeRED flow accordingly. To accomplish this, open the NodeRED editor in your web browser, import the provided flow, and you should be all set.
