The successor of the IOT2040, the IOT2050, has been released and can be ordered via Siemens Mall. Some general information: There will be two versions of the IOT2050. The name IOT2050 is the same for both devices, just the MLFB is different. Both devices are based on an TI SOC AM65x8 64-bit ARM processor and will have a Display Port graphics interface. The main differences between the two versions are the following: 6ES7647-0BA00-0YA2 (IOT2050 Basic) Dual Core processor (AM6528 GP) 1 GB RAM (DDR4) no eMMc no battery for RTC no preinstalled OS (has to be installed on µSD card like on the IOT2040) 6ES7647-0BA00-1YA2 (IOT2050 Advanced) Quad Core processor (AM6548 HS) 2 GB RAM (DDR4) 16GB eMMc included battery for RTC preinstalled Simatic Industrial OS 2.0 (incl. License) on the eMMc These interfaces you know from the IOT2040 will remain: Arduino Uno Interface 1x serial interface (RS 232/485) mPCIe Slot 2x Ethernet Interface (now Gigabit interfaces) OS options: Example Image based on Debian (download link) Simatic Industrial OS as of V2.1 (also based on Debian) The difference is that the Simatic Industrial OS is system tested, there will be updates from Siemens incl. Security patches, there is easy installation of some packages with service stick, etc. More information about the Simatic Industrial OS can be found here It is already preinstalled incl. License on the 6ES7647-0BA00-1YA2. Already available documentation Quick Install Guide Operating Instructions Setup the Example Image Setup the pre-installed Industrial OS on the IOT2050 Advanced Use the SDK for cross-compiling To get started with the 6ES7647-0BA00-0YA2 you have to flash the Example Image to a µSD card, insert it and connect via SSH to 192.168.200.1 with interface X1P2. BoyangS Posts: 5 Rating: (1)	Great to see IOT2050, thanks for the developers' efforts for IoT series (wondering where are the development team, hard to find one in the UK.) need to check with our purchase team, how to place an order during a covid19 lockdown. Finally, ARM processor. ARM is the right choice, with Debian, can do a lot more awesome stuff. I saw the container-related function in MindSphere early this year, I think now it's the time to try. I hope IOT2050 could use tools like Kubernetes to manage multiple nodes, so that can easily scale up the IoT projects. and would able to apply CI/CD workflow in a better way. (In Mindsphere you called the accounts with DevOps style, hope we can get more implementation with IoT2050) The price is higher, I think it should be an appropriate level, let's see what we do with this cost.

I have forwarded this and I hope it will be corrected soon. The prototype I use has 16GB, and the release devices will have also 16GB. Best regards!
