NCU 573.2 is with PLC 314 & NCU 573.4 is with PLC 314-C & that is the main problem. User need to add appropriate SDB. For more information please check this FAQ.

Can you explain what SDB is? is that a file in the PLC/NC archives? and what software do I need to have before add appropriate SDB if any?

or can you do this directly on the cnc control screen?

Hi,

It looks like it objecting to FB15 which is a system block.

You can try:-

Load the plc from your archive with plc in stop mode.

Connect with step 7 package and upload plc to PG.

Clear and restart PLC

Download using Step 7 PG to PLC but do not overwite any existing files in the plc.

Restat PLC/NCK Reset

It might work for you but you really need the original step 7 project and the correct toolbox.

you know. I have 20 days vacation and back now. Pee EI Sea is one of our old members in this forum, he gave you good suggestion. I will add something as I have same idea during vacation.

they key point is You need PC with STEP 7 sw--he call it PG. now I think you will get your "PG" soon. that is the tool to help you trouble shooting and making your system running.

#1--see picture I post  it it show your or your co-worker about SBD200---you can get SBD200, when you get PG and connect it to your NCU--using STEP 7 'upload station to PG"

You will get all SBD's including SB200, also your will get FB15 in current version--I will talk FB15 later

#2--I see you DID continue to try download PLC archive and follow up my post for your m/c. --that is good and helpful--from your information --it support my idea--that will help you--

That is FB15 is the main problem--this block is contain NC/PLC version information, it must match

Pee's suggestion is good--that help you to keep FB15 in V5.x but other PLC program blocks using V4.4 old back up from m/c builder.

about how to deal with FB15,(Fleeming,  I hope you get accessing forum and keep this as your record)

for preparation, you need 840D documentation, START UP / Installation guide is must-- you looking by Google, if you cannot find it  --quick response in forum, some one may help you.

you need basic skill --"How to use "SIMATIC Manager"--short call STEP 7, SOFTWARE, search online in or out Siemens website.

Now interpreted Pee's suggestion,--

1--Load the plc from your archive with plc in stop mode.--after load all PLC program blocks including FB15 for V4.4 inside PLC memory(in NUC) now

2---Connect with step 7 package and upload plc to PG.---this is another way to back up PLC , you back up V4.4 PLC files

3.---Clear and restart PLC--at this time, after PLC cleaned there will be only SDB's and FB15 for your V5.x version inside memory, as your boot NCU by V5.x NC software card

4---Download using Step 7 PG to PLC but do not overwrite any existing files in the plc.--attention, Key point here--when download --STEP 7 SW will pop box to ask you--" Do you want overwrite FB15?"--you must answer "NO" then continue, if it ask you "Do you want download System Data as well?" you should answer "NO" 

5--Restat PLC/NCK Reset--after finish shut off power--set S4 to 0 then power up system --if you are lucky you system should run!

The correct way of an upgrade, is described in the DocOnCd.

 @MBA, Yes I partly agree, but the problem is customer is in Asian country, they are not planning to call Siemens or expert services to recover their 2nd hand m/c.--they want to do it by them self, we can only do remote help.--not too bad is they will getting a Laptop with STEP 7 software.

When you get laptop, 1st thing you need to do is try to make online from Laptop to NCU .

I will attach pic's here to help you.

Your laptop is already set to communication using USB (PC adapter ) to NCU X122--this is 187.5K baud rate setting.see picture the 1st thing when you open SINAMIC MANAGER AND CONNECT CABLE is to click "Accessible notes" see picture, you should get same display. if not check following post with pictures and send message to me or cell ph text.

(picture is 4 M, too larger for Siemens here. I will send by email

Even if the customer is in Asia.
It can not be that the customer ends up witha non-safe machine by consulting the SIEMENS Forum.

If the NCU is exchanged in the machine and the NC software then the hardware configuration has to be re-created and the PLC Basic Program has to be exchanged.

Only the exchange of the FB15 is an unacceptable procedure.
