Our office test PLC S7-1511 was last used with TIA V16 and has firmware 2.9.7.  I'm now wanting to modify and test a program which was wtitten in TIA V13 on firmware 1.8 which I need to keep at V13.  It won't let me download it though as its now got a too newer firmware in it.  I can't even find this version avialable to download so I can attempt to roll it back.  When I go to the firmware download page (link below) the download links only go back to v2.5.  How do i get acopy of this old firmware version.

I do believe you need to submit a Support Request (create a new request) and ask Siemens Support to help you sort this out.

I am (without sufficient time and information) guessing there is no way to revert back to significantly older firmware on your "new" S7-1511.

In FW versions of the same major version, you can generally install the highest minor revision in the PLC (online) and run as low as minor rev 0 in the Portal project's PLC (offline), and then learn to ignore the warning you get every download about offline and online FW being different.

But, to be absolutely certain, you should check with Siemens Support.  Additionally, there may be some key (and as yet unmentioned) aspect of your project that steers their responses one way or another.

It sounds like you have a third-generation CPU. According to the delivery release note, this generation was initially delivered with firmware version V2.5. Therefore, V2.5 is the oldest available version, and downgrading to an earlier version is not possible. However, you can load a program designed for an older CPU.
