What software (name and part number) have you installed exactly? It seems it is not a trial license, which becomes active upon installation for 21 days.

What type of information message do you get?
What do you see in ALM (Automation License Manager)?
Is the ALM service running?

The trial license is activated as soon as you try to use the software. A message comes up to inform you that a license is needed. You need to tell it to use the trial license.

Caution: Using TIA Portal V20 and use up the trial period would mean that no earlier version would activate its trial license. The reverse is not true: After using TIA Portal V19 for the trial period, the V20 can still be activated for a trial period.
