You should try to find some installation-procedure-editing-software (ORCA should be good, google for it), open Setup file using it and find option for checking operating system and it's version. Uncheck that option and try to install. Using this procedure I've managed to install a lot of Siemens software on Win7 while this operating system was not supported. It was more or less working normally. Please keep in mind that this is not supported, nor is a good idea to write industry applications with such an installation. You can do it just for curiosity. Or fun :-) Regards.

If you run into problems you can't get support. Also you can be able to install, but run into lots of issues so I believe downgrading to Win7 is recommended if its possible, but I've heard that Win8 license does not allow downgrade anymore.

scarebyte Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	I have installed and tested tia portal v11 step7 and wincc professional sp2 on windows 8. It runs fine, I tried the plcsim and wincc advanced simulator and worked fine. The problem is wincc RT professional sp2. Its tia portal interface works fine but it cant compile the project because there is a problem with ms sql 2005 server. I think because in the installation the sql server is not properly installed. All was tested on windows 8 pro 64 bits. Regards.
