Dear Gary , are you using the Multiranger / Hydroranger 200 or the LUT440 ? In general, a wrong reading can have been caused by several reasons. What kind of cable are you using ? Is there a motor or something else around the contraoller or the cable of the XRS-5 ? In case that you are using the Multiranger / Hydroranger 200, please check P807, which will show you the noise.Normally the value should be on a negativ or small positive level.If there is noise present, means a value of more than 20, please follow the attached guide. If not, please change the algorithm in P820 to "9" (BL 0 best largest) to avoid that the unit is picking the first echo (refection) instead of the biggest.
