I need to use the MD720-3 with a S7-226 for SMS sending only, no Sinaut connections, no GPRS data exchange, maybe teleservice. Do I need to load in my projectall MAS31 libraries anyway? If the answer is "yes", can I manually load AT commands to initialize modem instead? Can you tell me the settings? I could find AT commands for MD270-3 nowhere in manuals. In set31_doclibrary_Vd12en.pdf manual they say to refer to Beitrags-ID 22537 for SMS library: this tag refers to MAS 5, but in MAS5 they say that SMS library works with TC35 modem: does it suits MD720-3 too? Do I have to change anything? Thank you

Sending SMS is not possible with Set31. The library don't support this feature. With Set5 you were on the right way. You can also use Set5 with MD720-3. The library there don't do anything more, as sending AT-Commands to the modem. Please try it and ask, if you have any problems or more questions. greets

I tried to send the AT command string AT^PARSET=”TERMINAL”,”MODE”,”SUPERVISED” during the initializing sequence, but it seems it doesn't work.. thank you

You can do this by pushing the SET-Button in front of the modem. Push it and hold them down until all three LED's switch on. After this start Set5 with your CPU. The CPU will parameterize the modem. You don't need to send AT-commands manually. Normally it works. Best regards

In the MD 720-3 System Manual is writen exaclty like this. ****************** In the Terminal Mode the SINAUT MD720-3 operates like a GSM modem, which is controlled by AT commands. Supported are • incoming and outgoing GSM data connections with 9600 bps with modems being connected to the GSM network, the ISDN or the analogue telephone network, • sending of SMS (Short Message Service). ********************** As you can see, it says it can send SMS messages, but says nothing about receiving them. Is it possible to also receive an SMS message using Set5???

In set5 you find the example of a PLC station comparing the received sms with the string "level" and responding to the sending number with a sms containing level value. I tried it with a 224XP and it works well; the only problemI haven't solved yet is that in the example the switching between sending and receiving is manually triggered. I also posted a question about automatic switching here /tf/WW/en/Posts/27343#topbut I found no solution till now...
