The log is still logging but the trend view stops displaying data

I guess it's possible to log data for a year depends on HMI used and logging cycle. Yes it's possible to log a tag value and trend it. You can either trend the data log(but this has some downsides particularly with bigger files) or trend the tag in real time(but this has a max time span). Skimmer, You mention there are downsides to trending dstslogs especially large files. I have some huge log files that stop updating after a while. It seems randome. The log is still logging but the trend view stops displaying data. Have you seen this or do you know of a work around to get the trend to update? splitted from Maximum Capacity of Data Log & trend in Wincc Flexible.
