Is there a maximum datalog size that can be displayed in a Trend View?

Hoozie Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Spoofy_50 I have a problem with WinCC Flexible 2008. I am using a MP277 8" screen. I have a couple of data logs setup to report values on change. I have eight of these units reporting the same type of data to different locations on my server. What I am seeing is that for some reason the log will just stop sending data. Everyone of my screens will do the same thing and at different times. It may report for a week with no problems and they may stop after a hour of restarting the screen. The log file will start back after runtime is restarted. I have read all the threads here andI only found one that was having the same problem. I have talked with Tech support with no help. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks I have a similar issue. am using a Simatic Box PC and WinCC Flex 2008 RT. I am logging to .rdb file on the pc hard drive and I have a TrendView set up to display the log. I notice when I leave the RT up over night and come to work in the morning and the trend will not update. The datalog is still logging but the trend will not show new data from the log when I pan right or refresh the screen.. Is there a maximum datalog size that can be displayed in a Trend View? Is there some way to force the Tren View to access the new data in the log. Splitted from WinCC Flexible 2008 Data Log stop logging.

At a certain point in time (say 29.04.2012 04:55) trend view stopped displaying the log, altough the data was still logging. I can see that in the .rdb file modified date, and I also have a button configured for ArchiveLogFile and I can see the data in the generated .csv file, but the trend only displays the data before 29.04.2012 04:55. Using WinCC Flexible 2008 SP3 RT on a PC with Win7 Ultimate. I've searched the forum but didn't find the solution to this problem. Any suggestions? Thanks Boti

Boti Posts: 14 Rating: (1)	Hello there, Finally I've got some tips from the support request: SerialCommDB.Weight_F2 SerialCommDB.Weight_F1 These are the tagnames in the logfile and this can cause trouble, because by reading back the trend determines only the first 8 letters, so it can come to wrong trends. Please change the tagnames in the way that in the first 8 letters is a difference and test the trendview afterwards. I've made that change, restarted the runtime, and now I'm waiting for a few days to see how it performs. Anyway, I had no idea about such a limitation in WinCC Flexible. Moreover, these tag names were automatically generated by WinCC Flexible Cheers Boti
