There is no reference function "hh:mm" available as you also can see in the manual, see "Editing a parameter box". The reference is only one integer value. If you need e.g. 04:30 hh:mm, then it is 4 * 60 + 30 = 270 minutes, no separate hours and minutes.

Only in unreferenced timer you have the parameter with timebase hh:mm, because here you can type in hours und minutes in separate fields.

Parameter Hours hh:mm is the same as reference minutes
Parameter Minutes mm:ss is the same as reference seconds
Parameter Seconds ss:1/100s is the same as reference ten milliseconds

The reference milliseconds is an additional timebase, not selectable in parameter

many thanks, this did the trick, I just multiplied my counter value by 60

even though I am used to reading very complicated stuff I would not have been able to derive this method from the somewhat lonely reference in the manual to "time reference function" (page 253 in the German edition), maybe the next manual version can explain this a bit better

That's the problem between reading and understanding. I had the same problem not understanding that you only want to select complete hours without minutes. Otherwise i had proposed the multiplication with 60 earlier.

You are right, some parts of the manual are sparely described. Maybe the next version will be better.
