cannot setup WinCC7.0

I never have had this problem but you can check out the Logfiles of the installation. Here an FAQ. http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/23069304 If there are no informations then i think the best way is to contact the siemens support. regards manfred

I follows your support and point out this log: "------------ CheckResultValue_()... Registry Key Name -> CheckOS, Software\Siemens\WinCC\Setup in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> unable to find the key in the registry ScanParameter WinCC V7.0 CommandLine: /OF:C:\DOCUME~1\ANMH\LOCAL SETTINGS\TEMP\OPFILE.TXT ERROR -> Control File not found: C:\DOCUME~1\ANMH\LOCAL Command: /OF parameter: C:\DOCUME~1\ANMH\LOCAL "------------ I think this cause mentioned problem....what contains in OPFILE.TXT? may be I need this file for the installation...but how and where can I get one? Many thanks!

ALU Posts: 35 Rating: (0)	Hi, I have WinCC source files in drive D:\ . I will install it on drive C:\, same drive with MS WinXP-SP2 OS. Sure that I am belong to Administartors group! I think I need OPFILE.TXT (may be contain in source files, but now has lost)...I've never known this file is used for what??? and what contains in it... May be I have to used search engine for this file... Thanks.

Please install wincc from CD and not from your hard drive. regards manfred

ALU Posts: 35 Rating: (0)	Hi, Sorry but CDs is out of there...however, I've no problem when installed WinCC from hard drives into another PC running WinVista...now i have troubles with WinXP.... I don't know why this happen...I've also find out OPFILE.TXT in source folder... Thanks for your support!
