wen xuan_li49 Joined: 10/9/2023 Last visit: 7/23/2025 Posts: 13 Rating: (0)	Hello everyone, I am currently working on a project with WinCC Professional and have a question regarding a functionality I know from WinCC Classic. In WinCC Classic, there is the function SSMRTOpenFaceplate to open a faceplate. Is there a similar function in WinCC Professional? My problem is that I am not very familiar with WinCC Professional. Currently, I have solved it by creating a Windows screen and simply making it visible when the symbol is clicked. However, a new popup window should appear each time a symbol is clicked. In WinCC Professional, you need a ScreenWindow for this. For a project i need to create each device a screen window. Does anyone have an idea how to open the popups without creating windows screens manually in WinCC Professional? Is there a function for creating windows screens? Is there a specific function or a better approach to solve this problem? Thank you in advance for your help!

You can create a script in a button to open a window. -> WinCC V8.0 Information System > OpenScreeninPopup method - You can review the following sections that inform you how to create and manage pop-ups. -> SIMATIC STEP 7 Basic/Professional V18 and SIMATIC WinCC V18 > Working with pop-up screens Hope it helps!

Murof Platinum Expert Joined: 8/3/2009 Last visit: 9/3/2025 Posts: 16322 Rating: (1930)	Hello wen xuan_li49 The SSMRTOpenFaceplate is a functionality from the Basic/Advanced Process Control of WinCC V7/8 (PCS7 Look&Feel) and this is not implemented in WinCC Professional RT in TIA. You can use the mentioned OpenScreenInPopup It works the same as In WinCC V8 but is not documented in WinCC Professional V20: It s available in C and VB script Bye Murof

I tried to find a setting for`AdaptWindowToScreen`, but it doesn't seem to work. Could anyone explain why this is happening or suggest a solution? Additionally, I attempted to change the border color of the popup window using properties like `BackgroundColor` or `BorderColor`, but these do not seem to work. Is there a way to change the border color or adjust the border settings in WinCC Professional? Attached are 1 image showing the white border in Professional and the blue border in Classic. One image shows the screen switching in Professional, but the screen is too small.
