Issue while capturing pcap for S7 protocol

AutoGen_7070738 Joined: 3/3/2025 Last visit: 3/3/2025 Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	Hi Team, Currently we are working in lab environmnet and in that the PLC (Siemens S7-1200) is communicating with AVEVA Edge scada over S7 protocol. When we try to captur PCAP using wireshark we are not getting the entire data items associated with S7 communication. does anyone faced simillar kind of issue in past, please guide if possible.

But maybe it has to do with the extended S7 protocol - mostly called S7plus - which is used with S7-1200/1500 CPUs. This protocol uses encryption and is therefore not fully inspectable with Wireshark. Kind regards Stefan

Do you use only not optimized DBs and do you have activated the Put/Get communication in security settings? In newer FW version you would have to activate also the security levels. Bye Murof
