Is this Configuration possible? Following Parameter are correct? P1070=61 Rotor speed P1300=20 SLVC. Thanks in advance for your time. Hi all, I i have similar question regarding MM440 + encoder module: Is it possible to use MM440+encoder module+encoder for speed setpoint and not only for loopback reference? Here is my application problem: There is existing conveyor belt run by motor which is controlled independently. I would like to have secondary conveyor belt and its speed should be synchronized with existing conveyor. This conveyor belt is to be controlled with MM440+encode module. Is it possible to mount encoder on EXISTING conveyor belt in order to provide speed(frequency )reference for secondary conveyor belt?

I made the assumption that the reply to the original post meant someone had tried this configuration already. They seemed pretty sure . . . The deviation should be minimal, however, you would be configured in SLVC mode, so hopefully, the deviation should be smaller than if you were in bog standard V/F mode. The biggest discrepancy would be propagation delay or lag. Your new conveyor would always be ? mS behind the source conveyor. A better solution could be implemented (assuming you already have a [fast] profibus network and a PLC. You could mount a Profibus encoder to the original machine and then pass the setpoints via the PLC to the drive. The drive could then use it's own Encoder + Encoder module to maintain accurate speed control/matching. Regards, Graeme

randomx0 Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Graeme, propagation is not an issue for me. Primary conveyor speed is set only during setup time and remains constant in normal operation. Most important thing is speed accuracy and would be very nice to hear from someone that had tried something like this. It is acceptable for us if speed deviation is expected to be within one percent or two. We do have basic PLC (S7-1200) on this project but i hope this will work for us because our target budget is low. We don't want to introduce another encoder, fieldbus, additional modules etc. if not really neccessary. Best regards, Primoz
