MRP in PN Ring involving Fibre Optic and CPU1215C

DolaMam Experienced Member Joined: 6/22/2009 Last visit: 6/6/2025 Posts: 63 Rating: (3)	We are proposing a configuration (attached) with CPU 1215C as MRP Manager and ET200SP as MRP Clients in a Ring. The Field side cables are Fibre Optic. The switches are third-party (Phoenix Contact) managed switches with 4 RJ45+ 2 SFP ports. At the CPU location we are tapping from the same switch for SCADA and HMI. Is the configuration correct? Attachment Config.pdf (213 Downloads)

If the routers support fiber and there are converters before each station. But maybe is better ask this kind of questions to the sales team. A forum is not the better idea to find this kind of support.

CPU and each ET200SP will only have a single Ethernet patch lead connection to their switch (not two as shown in your sketch) 2.) The Phoenix Contact Switches will need to support MRP (and most likely do, but please check) and be the MRP Clients in the FO ring
