arthurfi26 Posts: 9 Rating: (0)	I have purchase a Logo 8 and installed the programming software on my PC. I have no experience in PLC programming whatsoever and could really do with some help. I have been tasked at work with setting up a simple downtime capture system. I have a conveyor with product traveling on it. I am going to set up a sensor to determine when product is on the line (i.e: Sensor is made). When the sensor is not active (no product passing) , I want to capture this as downtime throughout the day. At the end of the shift I need to output this captured downtime to some sort of graph or spreadsheet so management have a visual reference of the downtime for the day. Can anyone help me write a program for the LOGO 8 to do what I need. Even some pointers in the right direction would be of great help. Look forward to hearing back from someone. Thanks for your time.

Only sensor free can not be, otherwise the time outside the shift time would also be counted. One could use the sensor signal e.g. lock with the operation of the line. Should only the time be counted during the shift and the counters deleted at the end of the shift? Or should you keep counting? Or 2 counters, a shift counter and an eternity counter? Where should be displayed?

arthurfi26 Posts: 9 Rating: (0)	@ixo65. Firstly thank you for your reply. Production would be active from 7:00am to 12:00am, Monday to Friday. I would need the counter/time capture to reset at 12am and not start again until 7:am next day. I would need to export the data to an excel file or something similar at the end of each shift so as management could see what the production downtime was on the previous day. There is a small gap between product on the conveyor of about 1 to 2 seconds between product so I dont want to start counting downtime until the sensor has not be made for about 1 minutes so would need some sort of delay on the counter starting. Im open to any suggestions.

The current LOGO! 8.2 has an extended web server. If the LOGO! integrated in the company network, you can view the current downtime constantly and after the end of the shift the entire time to another day 7:00 clock. In addition, you can save the total time after the end of the day in a DataLog.

If the LOGO! integrated in the company network, you can view the current downtime constantly and after the end of the shift the entire time to another day 7:00 clock. In addition, you can save the total time after the end of the day in a DataLog. Only has to be accurate to minutes. I did not wire or set up anything as yet. Probably just save the data to a datalog file at end of shift for now. Can this datalog file then be viewed in excel and turned into a graph or similar.

So is it possible you could help me with the writing of a bit of code I need to complete that task. As I said I have no experience with writing code but I would like to run a simulation in the software and examine the code to try and teach myself. Im not in a rush with this. Only if you have time.
