Thanks & regards, Bayu Hi there, I find this one to be a strange question. This is either very academical or the project is big with several persons working on it or it is a client requirement. What do you need the "FDS" for? (you do not have to answer) My shot in the dark follows.. The way the FDS looks like (format) should not differ, regardless of what processor (PLC / PIC / PC ++) being used. A functional description could be on function (FC/FB) level or it can be on global level. It can also be on device level. See the function / device as a black box. Now you explain the processes that it handles (flow diagram) and how other functions / devices interact with it. The examples given by Siemens for doing tasks with the S7-200 is a very good example. It gives a nice description of what happens and inside the function how other systems are linked. I hope this gives you some idea. I expect others will follow my post and give more details.
