I'm testing a V90, with an incremental encoder.  I want to control it by means FB (SINA_POS). I would like to set a new actual position value. I tried with ModePos= 5 (Set reference point), but when I set to "True" the ExecuteMode, this actual position goes to zero. Is possible to set this value to another value different to zero? 

I tried with the function block "EncoderAdjustment", but I don't get it...

Please, can you help me with this?

Unfortunately I do not know the _answer_ to your question.

However, I do know a workaround to get you going.

Where your "home" position is (meaning the location where you want position to read 0), move the load manually to that spot.  Now set the actual position to 0 using that modepos=5.

Now the encoder will read the right position.

If for some reason there is no way to do this, you can generate an offset in the PLC for positioning the load.  Let's say you want 100mm offset from the theoretical home position (which perhaps is not reachable) so all the positioning values make sense to operators, engineers, technicians, etc.  Set up the recipe values to use units they expect and adjust the recipe inputs by the physical hardware offsets.  So when a command is sent, move to 100mm, it moves to the real "home" position of 0.

In this way, you have user units and physical units, with offsets defined during commissioning, and perhaps adjusted during setup (after power failures and such).

Hope this makes sense.  Are you using a TO for managing motion?

Thanks. Anyway I found a way to do it and it's ok. I write with SINA_PARA or with SINA_PARA_S the parameter 2295, with the new actual value I need. Then I execute with EPOS the mode "5", and the executeMode. The actual position now is the one I wrote to the parameter. 

This is just a personal application, maybe is not useful for you at all, but in my machine I need this kind of functionality.

I think you mean parameter p2599, right?

But then it is the complete correct way of setting the reference coordinate.
