Hello everybody,

There is a fresh installed Simotion Scout 4.4, when it is being started I receive a message like below.

"error occured while reading in the file: (null). MSXML error:  The parameter is incorrect."

Further nothing occurs. Scout does not start at all.

True, in order to remove that message I need press the button a lot of times.

which operation system do you use?
Can you attach the install log File from Scout?

the logfile is namen InstallScoutLog.txt and stored under "ProgramData\Siemens\Automation\Logfiles\Setup"

ProgramData is a hidden folder!

of course I have found that directory, but there are so many files regard Scout.

What file is being written during startup I don't know...

why you don't read the post?

sorry I was just doubting, that it is written in this file during Scout startup.

Operation system: Windows 7 professional.

nothing is written at startup of scout in this file.

the problem is that you have a defective installation so the scout can't be startup!

and if i see this in the log file correctly the scout is reinstalled/modify and not fresh installed or do you have post a wrong or incomplete logFile?

Which Operation System exactly? Win7 proff ist not specific enough

I had looked through that forum, there are a few similar questions about the same issue.

But I had not found any useful solutions of this ussue, except " OS should be virgin". It is almoust unreal...

I am surprised at the lack of decent and to be honest, civil, response to the XML meta data error.

Most of the responses seem to be asking for a log from the installation. Then the trite comment that the Simotion Scout wasn't installed properly is useless.

If you have a decent solution for this problem then please share it with the community. Because I personally find the prospect of uninstalling and then reinstalling simatic manager and scout and other stuff a real pain. I am quite competent and so I am pretty sure that I didn't install the software incorrectly ... given there isn't really any real way to change the installation package.

So ... given there isn't a single decent link on google or this forum... I would really appreciate an answer and solution that will work.
