Hello!

I have a TP177A panel (6AV6 642-0AA11-0AX0) with a blank screen on start up. 

I'm trying to reset the panel to factory settings using ProSave. I have a 6ES7 972-0CB20-0XA0 adapter.

If I go into ProSave I have a couple of options in "General". In "General" I selected TP177A 6'' as my device and under "connection" I have tried all connections. 

Going to "OS Update" tab there is no image avaible.

Start ProSave via "Start > SIMATIC > ProSave > ProSave".

• In the ProSave menu bar you select the General menu and define the device type.
• Select "Serial (via RS232/PPI Multi-Master Cable)" as connection type.
• Specify the serial port to which the PPI cable is connected on your PC.
• You do not have to set the baud rate for an operating system update.
• Switch to the "OS Update" menu in the menu bar. Now, by default, an Image version for your operator panel is displayed.

The last step is not true. There is no image by default. However; I can manually select an image, but this image does not appear to match my device. "The connected device does not match the selected file".

Since there is only one image to choose from when it comes to TP177A I'm assuming I must have done something wrong. Perhaps my adapter is not able to connect to my device.

To reset to factory settings you must check the box that says "Reset to factory settings" in the OS Update section.

• RS232/PPI Multi-Master cable
  6ES7 901-3CB30-0XA0
• USB/PPI Multi-Master cable
   6ES7 901-3DB30-0XA0
• Right angle adapter (9-pin 1:1)

In this case, the panel is defected. you can contact your local Siemens representative for repair or replace with another new panel.
