First of all, sorry for my bad english.

I'm using an MTP1000 Unified panel with the last version of firmware and TIA Portal V20.

I'm currently doing deep archiving tests on a USB drive. I am using Traces for troubleshooting. 

I'm facing a problem: when the Traces registry is full, archiving and logging stop.

I found a temporary solution, which is to use another external storage to save the Traces. This solution significantly slows down the screen’s startup and also slows down the runtime, and I know that the memory is limited.

There is the error I got : Failed to register the trace buffer: ApplicationName: 'TraceProfileLoader', SubSystemName: 'Core', HostName: 'ucp-30138931983C', Error 6. Trace registry is full.

So my question is: is it possible to delete the Traces from the screen's internal memory, and if so, how?

I'm using the latest Upd for TIA (UPd3) and the latest OS Image (V20.0.0.2).

The trace forwarder is activated.

Here is the situation: the screen is capable of recording Traces until the registry is full. If this log is full, archiving and logging stop.

So my temporary solution was to activate the Trace logger and use an external storage system to store logs, but I want to get rid of this if possible.

Sorry to say that, but I don't have it anymore. I had a blackout yesterday, and it caused my MTP1000 to restart and clear the internal memory.

What you're saying matches my observations. So it's not possible to clear the buffers in the system's internal memory.

By the way, I observed this type of error after I had viewed around 4 to 5 million trace entries in the TraceViewer.

For now, the solution of using external storage is working, so I’ll keep it that way.

Hi everyone, 

After performing many tests using external data storage, here are my observations : 

- First, I was able to archive my data without any interruption for 8 days, resulting in a total of about 1.2 million data points.

- Second, I noticed that my screen is much faster when it comes to shutting down and starting up, which is a good point.

- Third, after reviewing the data, I haven't noticed any issues, which means the archiving is working perfectly.

I hope this will be useful to as many people as possible searching for answers on this topic.
