I am doing maintenance on a line that has TIA15.1 software ...

The program was made with FB and UDT ...

How can I view the cross references of a bit or a word belonging to a UDT?

see Attachment...in this example i used bit "Front" in more part of program but i haven't his cross reference...why?

 The Front bit highlighted is not part of a UDT, but of a Struct. Cross reference does not change from the normal use if you are cross referencing a UDT member var

Sorry, i did not look carefully.

It is a UDT, I was wrong.

You have to cross reference the UDT to see where it is used to declare variables, and then go at the variable and cross reference the member of that variable (which is declared as UDT).

ok thanks for your help but i tried and i still can't figure out where this information goes to work ....

the only way I know is this:

1 - insert a line under the reference you want to find

2 - copy the name of the reference in the inserted line

3 - this new reference will take the name of xxxx_1

4 - delete the old reference

5 - complete the compilation of the program

6 - compilation errors indicate where the old reference works

however it seems a bit complicated to me and I wonder why a program like TIA is not able to immediately visualize where a bit or a word, declared in a UDT, goes to work !!

•  First step: press Shift+F11 on UDT named udtFromAgv. In this way you find where the UDT is used to declare variables.
• go at the variable declared as UDT, open it up and cross reference the member that you want by highlighting with the mouse and pressing Shift+F11

Do not expect to have old Step7 cross reference. It is different

but it does not matter ... so with this TIA there is just to go crazy

 I have no trouble finding all usage points, when i press on the tag in code and then press F11. The cross reference will show all usage points of that tag in the project.
