Neto Experienced Member Joined: 9/27/2006 Last visit: 8/21/2025 Posts: 47 Rating: (5)	Hi All, I just installed a CAS 7.0 and the data isn't getting processed correctly by the server. I'm using in the WinCC Server 1 Day per segment / 1 week for all segments, and in the CAS 1 Day per segment and 1 Year for all segments. The database files seems to be copied correctly to the ArchiveDir folder, but Igetan error message "Archive Failed" in the Application Log screen. (See attached picture). So far, I configured the WinCC Server to backup the files in the CAS Server (over the Network). This step seems to be fine, as I can see multiple files in the ArchiveDir folder. After these files are copied, I see in the Aplication Log the info "Start Processing". I'm not sure what the CAS is doing in this step, but after few minutes it renames the extension of all files to ".failed" and the info comes as "Archive Failed". I don't knowwhere it is failing... (See the attached pictures). Are you suggesting that I change the Backup path to the local drive in the WinCC Server? What should I watch out then? In that case, where should I see the "Archive Failed" message? Are you suggesting to install the CASin the same server as the WinCC Runtime? I don't think this is possible as the manualsay that the CAS must be installed in a separate station, right? Do you know if there is any log file where I can see more details about this "Processing" task in the CAS Server Database? Thanks!

Anyway, what is the DataExtractor suppose to do during the "Processing" task, as we can see in the CAS Administration Log? Is it going to attach the mdf and ldf files to the running database? What can go wrong in this process?

My OS Server is the MANDU02 and the CAS Server is the SERVCAS. I just did one test trying to attach manually one file from the MANDU02, but that didn't work either. I'm planning to reinstall completelly the system: Windows + WinCC to see if there is anything wrong with the installation. Regards!

It is weird but if you have WinCC Server and Clients you normally don't need a Engineering Station, but when you want to use CAS, you need one!... This is also noted in the installation instructions, but I didn't belive in the begining, so I was tryingto usethe Server asmy Engineering PC. Have I try and tell me if that also solved your problem. I request, the creator of this thread to post system configuration including ES/OS and CAS stations. Prelimenary observations on all screen shots suggest that settings are correct. To solve the problem we had to install another station to act as an Engineering Station, open the project on this station, configured the CAS and Server Data and then download to all stations (OS Server, OS Client and CAS). May be it was just a coincidence, but when we tried to use the OS Server to download the CAS project, it generated the error described before. Let me know if that works for you. Regards, Neto.
