WinCC runtime advanced Project

Or in other words; is it possible to be CPU project and the WinCC Runtime HMI each in separate projects? i'm testing that by creating a new project and add a CPU 1214c with the same IP address for the real CPU and add WinCC Runtime PC station and also the IE General (IP the same for runtime machine) and did the Connection (HMI Connection) between CPU in this project and the IE general. when i try to set the HMI tags i got the tags empty since it is pointed to the CPU with this project and not the real CPU. I hope that my question is clear! Thanks in advance
