dchartier Grandmaster Joined: 9/27/2006 Last visit: 9/11/2025 Posts: 12407 Rating: (2717)	Hello pande; The trick to know is that Profibus-DP does not allow transmission at the bit level, only word values (16 -bit minimum) can be transported, via the PIW/PQW addresses asigned to your drive. If the drive you are using was a MM440, I wlould say: locate the outut address assigned to your drive in HWConfig, possibly PQW512 (it is the firrst address given in the OUT column of the drive in the Profibus configuration). This PQW 512 contains your Control Word, For a MM440, once the drive is started, writing 16# 047F to PQW 512 allows CCW rotation of the motor. Writing 16# 447F changes the rotation to CW (after deceleration and passing by zero speed). In STL: A M 50.0 // rotation select bit=1 L w#16#047F T PQW512 // CCW rotation AN M50.0 //rotation select bit=0 L w#16#447F T PQW512 // CW rotation If you prefer LAD, use MOV instructions. Adapt this logic to the structue of the Control Word you are using, and the Inpt/Output addresses your drive has been allocated by HWConfig, and you should be all right. You can make logic in PLC such that it will give -ve SP whenever you required reverse direction. Regards, Devesh
