Hello Sohaib; All Siemens CPUs provide 2 areas o memory available to the programmer: - load memory, either integrated RAM or external memory card, RAM or Flash Eprom. This is where the program is downloaded, along with the configuration files and data is maintained. If it is too small and creates a bolleneck, it is possible to extend it with a new or larger memory card. - work memory, volatile RAM where the program is executed. It cannot be extended (there are a very few exceptions) and if your bottleneck is in work memory you need to upgrade the PLC. Here are some links to information on the memory concept of the CPUs involved in your project: - S7-300 (and IM 15108) memory concept : https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/7302326 - S7-1200 Easy Book: Memory areas (see screenshot below) https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/39710145 If you look at the CPU Properies in Step 7, there is a Memory tab that will tell you exactly how much of each memory is still available. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
