How to connect tool probe in to Sinumerik 808d advanced mill

CarPic Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Hello people. I would ask if somebody can tell me how can I connect my tool probe (lenght tool only). I have a probe with 4 wire and each wair pair connected to a normal close switch (and the other switch NC is to indicate the end of the test run). I know that it mast be connect to Fast I/O X21 Port Pin 4 (DI1 ) however, I don't know how where I have to connect the other wire switch probe, if to Pin 1 (24 V) or Pin 10 (M) and finally if is necesary to use a resistor like PULL UP or POOL DOWN to ensure the logical state when the switch is open (tool is touching the probe). Refer probe connection & connect probe 1 to pin 4 (DI1) & probe 2 to pin 5 (DI2) Set MD 13200[0] = 0 or 1 Set MD 13200[1]= 0 or 1 User can check status of these signal in PLC status at DB2700.DBB1 & confirm bit change status. HTH

There is something else that I would like to take the opportunity to ask you. My probe has a 2 meter long cable so my question is. Is the latency time of the signal through the cable important, plus the response time of the Fast In? I have read that there is an adjustment register to make up for it. My probe is Chinese with a precision of 0.001 mm. I am very grateful for your help !!!! Greetings Carlos

[snip] Yes it is important, but 2 meter cable length is standard & connection needs to be connected to fast nput of NCU/PCU.

In some input of the PLC or in the other fast input remaining. Is there an example program part where I make the z-axis stop and generate an alarm? Thank you so much friend !! Carlos
