When we increase the input voltage on thepotentiometer we stop increasing frequency on the drive at8 volts. From 8 volts to10 volts (on the pot) we stay at66hz on the drive?I understand that I will be limited by what the motor can handle but other than that, is there a parameter I can change to allow this tohappen?

Hello, 1. Check the max. frequency P 1082 2. Check the reference frequency P 2000. P2000 is the full scale frequency setting used by serial link, analog I/O or Profibus DP (equivalent to 4000 Hex) It means if this value is 60 Hz and value in P1082 is 80 Hz for example, then if you applied 10V to the ref. AI of the MM4, it will run at 60Hz. But if the value of P1082 is less than P2000. for instance let's assume that P1082 is 40 Hz and P 2000 is 60 Hz 40 Hz could be achieved when the voltage applied to AI of the MM4 is 6.67 V And for values > 6.67 and =< 10V, frequency would be 40Hz. It will be saturated at the value of P1082. Hope this helps.

JamesB Posts: 14 Rating: (0)	The drive I have is from 1999. I can only access parameters up to 999. Perhaps the parameters you are suggesting are for a newer unit? The manual I have lists P420 asSystem Rtd Freq. This would be the reference quantity for acceleration time,deceleration time, etc. My thought is that perhaps this might be limiting me. However, I cannot even pull up the parameter with the PMU. Would I have to utilize Drive Monitor for this?

Because, As per your backup, your setpoint is coming from Profibus while as in your question you want it to run using POT. If your Pot is connected to PLC, then you have to check proper scaling in PLC Moreover, you can try increasing reference frequency in P352. Thenn you will get some more variation Regards, Devesh

Moderator closed forum because he already transferred your thread from MM440 to Simovert VC section and you started new thread so to avoid repeatetion, he closed forum. In future, in such case, click on the button inform Moderator and just ask him to transfer any thread to related forum JamesB I'm wondering where you seen thatmy setpoint is coming from Profibus? Is there a parameter showing this? I actually have (4) drives in that cabinet and niether are labelled. The parameter set I sent you was my closest guess as the correct set. In Main setpoint Parameter, it is set to 3002 which is PZD2 of CB so this means your setpoint is coming from Communication board i.e. from PLC If this is not case, try increasing parameter as I suggested or send me the correct backup file Devesh
