Limitations connecting a Profibus ET200SP to a CPU S7-300

Is there any limitation connecting a Profibus ET200SP to a CPU S7-300 with a firmware 1.x or 2.x? I'm asking this because a colleague of mine connected it to a 317-2DP FW 2.x and had all led blinking.. He solved changing the CPU with another one with FW 3.x. Thanks in advance ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Split from PROFIBUS COMMUNICATION CPU S7-300 V1.0.0 WITH ET200SP.

I think at the moment is not a problem the limit about the number of connected slaves because I have only 7 Profibus objects. Code of existing CPU is 6ES7315-2AG10-0AB0 fw 2.0 and new ET200SP is 6ES7155-6BU01-0CN0 fw 4.2. Thanks

check Technical Data of 6ES7315-2AG10-0AB0.

There you can read:

● Number of DP slaves, max.

124; Per station

Question is (because of 2.0 firmw.) if this new ET is supported inside your Step7 Manager SW, not TIA is expected here of course due older 315-2DP HW. Maybe you can take a look at documentation to ET200SP HW (more documents are existed) if some limitation with firmw. existed in this case but somehow I don't expect some problems with attach this ET to PB/PN and exchange some data.
