I am trying to install Wincc 7.5 SP2 on a virtual machine with the following configuration:

OS: Windows Server 2019 Standard (64-bit operating System, x64-based processor)

CPU: Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2620 v2 @ 2.10 GHz 2.10 GHZ

RAM: 40 GB

As soon as the installation wizard reaches the sequence of installing the SQL Server 2016 (WinCC), it follows through the installation to 100% and after that the error message in the attachment is shown. I have tried installing the SQL Server 2016 (WinCC) separately, but it didn't help. Has anyone encountered the same or similar problem, and if so what can I do to complete the installation?

Welcome to the forum!

Is there any other instance of SQL database installed on the PC? If so, please follow this FAQ and try the individual installation of SQL Server 2016 SP2 again.

In case it does not work, or if you do not have another SQL instance installed... maybe it would be better to start from a clean PC image and install WinCC from scratch.

I have had the same problem a while ago.

Installing the latest possible windows-updates solved the problem for me.
