Dear Experts,

I am having trouble connecting a S7-1200 with a S210 for motor control.
This is the setup: S210 with motor (6SL3200-0AE61-0AA0), connected with a S7-1200 PLC and to my laptop through two ethernet cables (with an adapter usb to ethernet for laptop). According to the documentation I should first do the commissioning of the S210 and motor via a webserver on the S210. I can go to the webserver without a problem, there I can see a schematic overview of the S210 connected to the motor and plc. But when I start the commissioning with the one-button-tuning the trouble starts.
If I click on the one button tuning the following things happen:

First I get this message: "Control could not be taken. This may be a drive fault. please check the messages"

Then when I look at the diagnostics I see the following error: 1030: "Sign-of-life failure for master control (0)"

And finally on the front of the S210 I get the following error code: "F09" and both on the S7-1200 and the S210 red LED's are blinking.

Can someone explain to me what is happening and how I can fix this?

Hi, 

the S210 is intended to be operated at a S7-1500 with PROFINET IRT communication - that's why telegram 105 is set by default. -> and that's why you get the fault with sign of life failure I guess. 

Your S7-1200 does not support IRT communication and telegram 105. So you need to change the telegram of the drive to telegram 3 for example. In your PLC you need to create a Technology object for positioning and connect the GSDML file of the S210 to the HW config with telegram 3. 

After that your fault should be gone.

Yes I that was the intention, to use telegram 3 with just RT. I thought I needed to do the commissioning first but I will try to program the plc like that first then.
