We have a analog input card (6ES7331-7KF02-0AB0) with the last channelgroup configured for 4-20mA/4-wire. Wirebreak detection is enabled but only the 1st of the 2 channels is used and the other one is spare. 

This gives the error of wirebreak, showing a fault on the CPU. We would like to get rid of this and see 2 possible solutions.

Option A: Take the measurement from channel 1 and put it in series with channel 2, turning them into 1 channel 

Option B: Put a fake measurement on the channel by using 24V + 1500ohm resistor.

Is there a 'best practice'-advice for this or is either option valid? Option A takes preference because it's a simplest/cleanest way to solve this but not sure if this might cause problems. I assume it won't since the channels for 4-wire current measuring must have very low impedance?

We also have a 2-wire channelgroup with only 1 channel being used but were able to solve this with just a resistor on the channel itself.
