kelertas Posts: 30 Rating: (0)	Hello, I'm trying to do some program wich should work as follow. With my cell phone i make call to GSM/GPRS modem. The modem connect to PLC (CPU224 for example) and during the calling time it gets the data from PLC( temperature value for example) and send SMS with it to my cell phone. Do I need to use the cable with PC/PPI converter? ( I have just older version of it with 5 pins) How can I start the programs writting? Thank You

Helmut_13 Posts: 2930 Rating: (432)	Hi, information you can find here: www.siemens.de/microset Basically modem has a RS232 port and the PLC has a RS485 port. The PC/PPI cable is use to connect both together (like a RS242(RS485 converter). You cable may work. Write a small freeprot program (sending and receiving data) and see if you can receive/senddata with Hyperterminal. If this works then your cable works well. Regards Helmut

lorenzo Posts: 8 Rating: (0)	Hi! Why don't you send a SMS to the remote station asking for a value, and program the PLC to answer with another SMS including that value? You can do this very easy using Nubitek SMS Manager. Regards, Lorenzo
