May Posts: 24 Rating: (0)	Dear Sir, I am working on coil coating line maximmum line speed is 160 Meters per minute. increamental Encoder (1024 ppr )is mounted on deflector roll of dia 350 mm;how to calculate the freuency of operation. High speed input is capable of handling 60 KHz frequncy. regards,

jklm Platinum Member Joined: 12/22/2006 Last visit: 1/25/2022 Posts: 1742 Rating: (309)	Hello, 160 meter/min ==> 160.000 mm/min ==> 160.000/60 = 2666 mm/sec A rol with a diameter of 350 mm ==> 1 turn = 3503,14= 1099 mm/turn The rol will rotate each second about 2666/1099 = 2,42 turn/sec If the encoder delivers 1024puls per rotation: 2,42 1024 = 2478 pulses/sec So with a counter capable of 60kHz (60000 changes/sec), no problem. Verify my calculation a second time, byt y beleave it is correct.
